Merge Activities allows you to combine activities from your GPS device such as a Garmin into one.
It may occur for different reasons that you had to split your run/ride into multiple sessions, due to a GPS signal loss, a crash of your device, battery running out, etc. Basically you own all data of your running or riding session, but they are split into several activities. Merge Activities allows you to upload GPX files and merge them into a single activity.
If you are not sure about what to do, check the How to tab.
The maximum upload size is 64Mb, if the total size of your files is greater than this, Merge Activities won't work.
NOTE The final result depends entirely on the quality of the imported files. Merge Activities can combine an activity that has been cut in multiple parts, but cannot invent a route from corrupted files or with poor data. The result is hence not 100% guaranteed.
To be able to merge activites, you need to export them as GPX files. The procedure described below is for Garmin through the Garmin Connect website, it may slightly differ for any other device brand website.
You are now ready to use Merge Activities. Simply upload those files in the Combine your files tab of this page. After a while - depending of the size of your activities - you will be presented with a link to download a new GPX file combining the parts you previously uploaded.
Finally, you can import that new full activity in your Garmin Connect account. From the Activities page, click the Import link (in the upper right corner) and follow the instructions:
That's all!
Merge Activities is a free service still in beta. Feel free to use it and to promote it. But keep in mind this is a personal project initially created for my private use.
